"Patiently Waiting On God"

Week of January 22-28, 2017

Psalm 40:1-2(NKJV) “I WAITED patiently for the LORD; And He inclined to me and heard my cry. He also brought me up out of a horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my steps.”

How would you rate your level of patience? When you need something, do you wait patiently on God before you make a decision?

Waiting on God is very important in our walk with Christ. David understood this, and he understood that it is not a good idea to move without waiting on God to intervene first. To wait patiently means that you will wait on God no matter what the circumstances are. You can be pressured and troubled on all sides, but you do not move or make decisions without first hearing from God. Most Christians put themselves in bad positions because instead of waiting on God, they believe that they are smart enough, and they end up making their circumstances even worst because they failed to seek God and wait for an answer. Trust me, I am very guilty of this. God had to work on me in this area big time. The good news is that our God inclines His ear to our cry and He hears us! He hears our prayers every time we cry out to Him, and He responds according to His perfect timing. God knows best. He has the power to bring you up out of any troubling situations that you are going through. He will set you up and He will establish your steps, so that you will know exactly how to be led and which decisions to properly make. Waiting on God is hard but yet worth it. God will never leave you in the situation that you are in. Wait on Him!!

This week, ask God to help you patiently wait on Him. Ask Him to strengthen you as you wait patiently upon Him.

"Glory in the Cross''

Galatians 6:14 "But God forbid that I should boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world."

As believers, the only thing that we could truly boast about is the cross that Jesus suffered on. Jesus suffered on the cross as an innocent, blameless, sinless, Holy man. He died and shed His precious blood on the cross, so that the sins of the whole world could be taken away! He also died on the cross so that we could be brought back to God! Without Jesus death at the cross, there wouldnt have been anything else sufficient enough to redeem us. But Jesus humbled himself, fulfilled the will of the Father, and has reconciled us back to God, through the cross!!  The cross represents love. Lets glory and boast in the cross of Christ, because without it, we would be without God.

The Truth Sets Us Free

John 8:31-32 "Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him. "If you abide in My word, you are my disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free".

God desires the best for each of His children. But sometimes we become trapped in bad habits, thoughts, and emotions that interfere with His plans for our lives. However if we continue in Gods word, we'll know the truth that sets us free from whatever is holding us in bondage. To abide in Gods Word means to continue in the Word, to be consistently reading and applying it to our life. Then we'll know what God says and be able to recognize the traps that threaten to ensnare us. Gods Word sets us free from any sin that tries to keep us down.

Is there any bad habit, thought, or emotion that is causing you not to read Gods word?

Isaiah 40:28 - Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the LORD, The Creator of the ends of the earth, Neither faints nor is weary. His understanding is unsearchable.

The wonder about our God is that He created everything on the planet, including you. He is everlasting, which means that He never dies, He will always live forever. He never quits nor does he ever get tired. That is great news because it lets us know that no matter what we may be going through on the planet, God is always working on our situation. I want you to zoom in on "His understanding is unsearchable". What does that mean ? It means that no one on planet earth can explain nor give an answer for why God does what He does. He made known to us His ways, His commandments, His laws, His principles, and His plan for our lives, but He doesnt tell us why He does what He does. When you are waiting on God to anwser your prayer or to deliver you out of a bad situation, most of the time He does not show up at the time in which we expect Him to, but He is always up to something. All we know is that if we are His, He is using the situation that you are going through for His good! He brings the best out of every issue or problem that we face in life. Its difficult most of the time to understand God and why He allows certain things on earth to happen. But the good news is that He is alive, He never grows weary, He never slumbers, and He delivers us from all of our troubles.

Has there been a moment in your life when you faced a trial or a problem and you didnt understand why God allowed you to go through it? or are you still struggling about the knowledge and nature of God in general ?

Serving for Gods Glory

1 Peter 4:10 - As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God

When you received Christ as your personal lord & savior God deposited inside of you a spiritual gift. The spiritual gift that He gives you allows you to use it to bring God glory and to be a blessing to other people. God wants us to use the spiritual gifts that He has given us to serve His kingdom. Our spiritual gifts can also be used to fulfill the purpose that God has upon our life. You can reach your destiny by using your spiritual gift to serve where God places you.

If you are using your spiritual gift to personally bring you glory, then you are using your gifts for the wrong reason and God is not glorified in it. Are you using your spiritual gift to serve Gods people and to ultimately bring Him the glory? or are you using your gift to glorify yourself?

"The Lord hears and delivers"

Psalm 34:17 "The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles."

Are you in some sort of trouble right now? Are you facing some problems that are uncomfortable? Well i got good news for you, God hears you! What an awesome thing to know, that no matter what situation im facing, God hears me! He also hears you! God see's everything that you are going through, he is attentive to all of your prayers. If you are righteous, meaning "in right standing with God" through our Lord Jesus Christ, God has His eyes upon you. He see's ALL your troubles and He will not let your troubles consume you, nor stay with you. How do I know? I know because it says in the scripture, "He delivers them out of all their troubles". Last time I checked, all means ALL! So be thankful during this holiday season, knowing that God hears our prayers and our cries, and He delivers us from ALL of our troubles! Bless His Holy name! Be thankful!

"The Impossible"

Matthew 19:26 "But Jesus looked at them and said to them, With men this impossible, but with God all things are possible"

Are you dealing with a situation in your life that seems like its impossible for it to go away? Are you trying to accomplish something that seems like its impossible to happen? If you fall into one of these categories, i have great news for you. God specializes in accomplishing things for us on our behalf that we in our own strength and power cant accomplish. Sometimes even people will try to help you accomplish something and will ultimately fail. But im praising the God of the universe because what seems impossible to us, is more than possible with God! He is able to do the impossible! Whatever you are going through right now, dont give up. Lay your requests, burdens, and concerns upon God, and watch Him show up and do abundantly above all that you can ask or think! He's a God that does the impossible! More importantly, He's the only true God, that can draw you to His kingdom, give you eternal life, and dwell with you forever. Praise Him!

"He will not remember"

Hebrews 8:12 "For i will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more"

Are you burdened by your sins, failures, and mistakes? The good news is that when you receive Christ as Lord & Savior, God forgives you of all your sins and He never brings them up again! The devil will taughnt you, make fun of you, lie to you, make you feel bad about your sins, and will make you feel as though you are going to hell. But dont listen to His voice! God loves you, He forgives you, He accepts you, He knows you, and therefore there is no condemnation(hell) to those who are in Christ Jesus! Now this doesnt mean that we can take advantage of Gods grace and His forgiveness to continue in sin! But however if you are in His kingdom, your past, present, and future sins have been wiped away! Praise His Holy name!!

"The benefit of Waiting on God"

November 13th, 2017

Isaiah 64:4 ''For since the the beginning of the world, Men have not heard nor perceived by the ear, Nor has the eye seen any God besides You, who acts for the one who waits for Him"

Do you find it difficult waiting on God? Its evident, that His timing never matches ours. He makes us wait longer than we expect to. But the benefit of waiting on God is that He acts for the one who actually waits for Him. While your waiting, God is preparing your answer, He is putting everything into place, so that when He shows up it will be right on time! God hears you, He sees you, and He knows how long you have been waiting. Dont move ahead of God because you can make things worst. If you make a decision before God shows up, more than likely its not the best decision and you will end up paying the price for what you did. Keep Waiting on God, keep on obeying Him in the process, and He will show up when you least expected. Your breakthrough, miracle, blessing, and answer is coming! Wait on the LORD!

"The Value of Peace"

Nov 11th, 2017

John 14:27 "Peace i leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do i give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid."

Where does your peace come from ? What do you have to do to find it? In the world, people only have peace when they have materialistic things or if everything is going their way. As soon as something does not go their way they go balistic! To comfort them, they use things like drugs, sex, and alcohol to bring them peace and to fill the empty void inside. One of the values of having a relationship with Jesus is that He gives us a peace that surpasses all understanding. You could be going through hell and hot water, but the peace that Jesus give ushers into our hearts and we can get through our difficult times better. His peace satisfies us completely. No amount of drugs, sex, or alcohol could satisfy us the way that Jesus peace satisfies us. His peace sticks with us and you can go through your trial knowing that He is with you and that He will deliver you.

Have you received the Peace of Jesus? If you havent, how do you receive peace ?

"The Answered Call"

November 8th, 2017

Jeremiah 33:3 "Call to Me, and I will anwser you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know."

Have you ever called a friend or a family member and asked them for a favor? When they responded to your request, did they do more for you in which you wasnt expecting ?! Example: If you called and asked them could you have $10, but they gave you $100 instead! Were you expecting it? I dont think so! We can call out to God just as though we were calling Him on a cell phone. If our hearts and desires are in align with Him and His will, He will answer us everytime. Not only that, He will show us great and mighty things which we werent expecting Him to do.

How often do you pray? How often do you call out to God? Do you believe that He has the ability to show you great and mighty things which you have not known?
